Castle Rock Inn

During the last forty years, Castle Rock Inn has become a landmark in Gallatin Canyon. Owned and operated by Fred Weschenfelder, Castle Rock is located on Highway 191, midway between the bustling town of Bozeman and the high dollar resort of Big Sky. In an area populated with expensive lodges catering to the rich and sometimes famous, Castle Rock remains an affordable destination for those in the working world. The "Inn" is actually a combination of cabins and campsites that stretch along the banks of the Gallatin River. Guests not only enjoy the sound of the rushing water but the flavor of an ole time café located on the property as well. Known for its hearty breakfasts and greasy spoon hamburgers, the café is the gathering spot for Castle Rock guests and a number of locals. If you don't find a crowd in the café, check the picnic area next to the river, the favored place for grilling hot dogs and marshmallows. If you visit with the guests, you'll discover that many of them have been regulars for ten or twenty years - we have several families who vacationed here with their children and now continue the tradition with their grandchildren. Guests from across the country have developed friendships that are renewed every summer at the counter in the café and around the picnic tables by the river.
